How to heat a bathroom

March 23, 2021

Even with many different heating options available, how to heat a bathroom can still prove a challenge to get right. Wallspace can be restrictive to accomodate a radiator in smaller bathrooms.Smaller radiators may not give enough heat.

Luckily nowadays more options to heat a bathroom have become available since the days of the over door electric fan heater with a pull cord .

Heated towel radiators come in both central heating versions and oil filled electric only models and can be a choice for small and larger bathrooms. They come in a large range of sizes, although you will need sufficent vertical wall space to fit one of these radiators.

They benefit from keeping towels warm and dry whilst adding a small amount heat to the room. They are not really suited for the sole space heating as they only typically produce around 500 watts

Depending on if you choose a basic towel radiator or something a little more luxurious you will need to consider additional source of heating. If you are starting a complete renovation or new build you may have considered installing underfloor heating. In an earlier post plinth heaters vs underfloor heating we explain a lot more into the different types of underfloor heating available.

Our new models of Low voltage DC Plinth heaters are ideally suited for the bathroom application. These connect to your existing central heating system and have a max heat output of 1400 Watts combined with a very compact size that can enable the installation under sink vanity units.
